Last night the Easter bunny checked Kenmore’s weather before heading over and hiding our eggs in the backyard outside. EB has never hid the eggs outside in my lifetime, but Bradley’s Easter bunny did and he talks about it like it was magical and special, so we branched out and gave the go-ahead and sure enough, this morning when the kids looked outside to check on the new play structure, they saw eggs! To further prove that indeed the eggs were outside, the babes found a note that said the eggs were outside and the green/blue ones were for Jude and the rest were for Gigi. The hunt was on!

As were were coming out the door, Bradley saw a large movement to the left in the grass.  We looked around and didn’t see anything, despite Bradley’s thinking that he saw a big person or something.  As the hunt continued in earnest, we did a little bit of Scooby sleuthing and found the following clues:

Exhibit A was a lounging chair coated well with egg bits and shells…

Exhibit B was a series of plastic eggs, opened, and missing the candy…

We deduced that it was those pesky crows.  I guess we need to get out there early if we have plans to get the goods before the birds!  Regardless, a plethora of candy was found.  EB has again adjusted his expectatios for Gigi, this year her eggs were really hard to find.  It was a little frustrating for her to continue the hunt, but eventually she found them all and added the score to her stash.

After the egg hunt we all went inside for strawberry waffles, in honor of Grandpa Kobs who sure did love his strawberry waffles, and quiche and all the other fancy nummies that we put out especially on Easter.  We spent the remainder of the day finishing construction on the play structure and having a weanie roast to end the lovely sunny day, but you’ll have to read about that tomorrow!  Happy Easter!
