Jude has lost his toofers. Just like that. One morning he came in and I jokingly asked him if he had any loose teeth. Up he runs and I am shocked to find a little wiggler. Huh. He’s four. FOUR! I know! He felt it too. He was happy as a clam with his little loose tooth until it got really loose. Then the tooth under it started pushing out and the baby tooth just let go when I have it s little tug. Tooth number one was out!

Then he started crying. He missed his tooth and realized that losing this first tooth was kissing his babyhood goodbye. He cried that he didn’t want to grow up into a man- he wants to be our little boy for always. We know exactly how he feels.

The tooth fairy came and dropped a book and some bucks, leaving his tooth behind for Jude to remember being a baby by.
Lo and behold, a few days later the neighbor tooth started working it’s way out, becoming wigglier and wigglier! Finally, I came home on Tuesday to find his tooth not only loose, but laying sideways in his mouth. It couldn’t function and was barely hanging in there. We tried to get Jude to pull it out or let someone else pull it, but he wasn’t having it!

Jude brushed that tooth that night and slept with it. He woke in the morning and at breakfast, that tooth made its escape via the bagel. Jude took a bite and out it came!

Tooth fairy showed up again this morning. Jude came to us with a dime in his hand, thrilled at his take! Lucky for him, Daddy was able to find the real prize: a Scooby book and the bucks.
Cheers to the big boy Judel Noodle who, for now, we call Toothless.
