Jude turned three last Saturday.  THREE.  That means three years have flown by already and we only have two more until this boy will be starting kindergarten!  Jude’s life thus far has been very busy.  His first birthday was during the planning phase of our house building and during my completion of the National Boards, so we were too overwhelmed for a big party.  Last year we were exhausted, broke and nearing the end of the house building, so we couldn’t hardly THINK of having a party much less throw one, so this year we went all out and had three years worth of birthdays in two weekends!  We started with the Monster Mash birthday event (that also kind of doubled as a housewarming for us) and invited as many people as he wanted.  It was a good time.

Monster Surprise cakes: The surprise?  Each one had a mini candy bar inside.  We decided that Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups =yum, while Butterfinger=what is that strange chewy gob in my cupcake???

And the rest of the monster cakes.  Jimmies sprinkles were my close and personal friend for these cakes!

I like this picture of Jude because he is so calm in it.  He was surprisingly low key during the whole party, almost as though he could not believe this was really happening!

One of the favorite gifts – something he has been oggling and touching in Target every chance he gets, and now?  It is ALL HIS!  Mwa haha!

Cake time!  This cake got well coated in slobber.  But, we still ate it.

Candle blowing.  Or candle raspberrying.  It took a loooong time and a lot of spit to put out those candles!

This pinata was present at our ‘welcome Jude’ party that we had a week after he was born.  He asked if we could break it and we were only too happy to comply!

Post pinata candy craze.

The end of his party: a very happy boy and his new birthday toys.
