One of the fantasy pieces that Bradley and I REALLY wanted to have at our new property was a patio.  Not a deck, not a poured slab, but a bricked patio.  Well, folks, the dream is realized.  Over the past three weeks the patio has been installed, and already we are using the heck out of it!  Our kids are just thrilled to have an outdoor playspace where they can scooter, bounce balls, roller blade, blow bubbles, have bonfires and sling ropes and sticks around!  I am loving the lack of mud that is getting tracked in and the freedom of letting the kids play outside by themselves (we still don’t have a fence, but the boundary is pretty clear now).

This is where my vegetable garden will be.  This way I can save my back doing the weeding!

Next up? Some pice work around the edges and then the play structure, fence and garden!

Tami was leaving to go out with her friend and the kids begged to go with her. I said, "you don't want to go with mom, she is going to the Tapas bar and we are going to stay here and play games."

Gigi stiffened, "That's weird", she said as she blushed. I processed fast and realized the problem. "TAPAS bar. It means 'small plate', not TOPLESS bar!"

The checker at the store asked our always conversational little boy what his name was. He replied "Jude" then added "but sometimes they call me pumpkin brown". LOL.

And they are right. We call him that after the folksong that we sing sometimes.

A long time ago…
