The importance of libation

Staying hydrated while in the House of Mouse is very important. It is easy to lose your edge. Just notice the rapid transformation that occurs with but a few sips after a hot, crowded afternoon in Disney California Adventure:
Before…
After some more…

Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood
07.21.12 | Permalink | | Comments Off on Deep in the Hundred Acre WoodToday we visited our friends who live deep in the Hundred Acre Wood. We expected the kids to go through the motions and enjoy their meetings with our old favorites, what we weren’t expecting was for Jude to LOVE and ADORE them so ding dong dang much!
First it was T-I-double-guh-errr and Jude kissed, hugged, caressed, canoodled and adored that stripey guy. I thought he related to Tigger in a special, unique way. We said goodbye to Tigger and found Eeyore a-waiting.
Meeting Eeyore was the same, kisses hugs and adoration. Pooh got the king’s treatment as well, full of adoring looks, loves and kisses.
We opened Jude’s world early up
popular culhure. He met Pooh and Tigger on screen alongside Vader and Batman. He embraced the big boys quickly and I worried that he would not enjoy the sweeties as much. Today proved, however, that he is able to love them all with kindness and adoration, and that makes the world an even better place!

Build Your Own
07.20.12 | Permalink | | Comments Off on Build Your OwnFor years we have walked right by the ‘Build Your Own LIGHTSABER’ stations at Disneyland. Gigi admired them; Jude adored them. But they were costly and we wanted him/them to be a little older before we sprung that much for a plastic saber.
So while he saved his money all winter and spring he talked about the light saber that he was going to build. We knew this was the year, so before we ever even stepped foot in California he was very excited!!
So imagine his absolute joy this morning that as we were exiting Star Tours he spied the lightsaber building center. He went to town and thrilled at making his fully retractable, sound enhanced (oh, yes, it makes that voom voom noise) and LIGHT-UP lightsaber.
Bradley and I know it’s not the be all end all lightsaber, that it will likely be disassembled and lost shortly after returning home. But I’m telling you, my son was the man leaving that store with his duel sided red and green saber! And everyone knew it. Men and boys alike saw his and wanted their own. Even the men reading this now want to build one. It’s ok to admit it…

Indiana Jones & The Forbidden Temple
Zoinks! Indiana Jones was, like, a creepy mystery man! So nice to have kids who are old enough to enjoy the ride… And the line just may be as good as the ride itself.
