A Day at the Beach
05.29.09 | Permalink | | Comments Off on A Day at the Beach[singlepic id=55 w=320 h=240 float=center]Recently we decided to accompany my parents and my brother’s family out to Camano Island for some much needed R&R. [singlepic id=64 w=320 float=center] It is rare that my family gets together aside from holidays, so this was a unique opportunity for fun! My parents have a camping timeshare at a place called Camp Grandie that allows us access to the beach. The tide was low, so the non-vegetarians dug for clams. [singlepic id=57 w=320 h=240 float=center]The kids hunted starfish, sandshrimp, crab, shells and dug holes in the rocks and sand.
Dan ran the BBQ so everybody was fed with a variety of dogs. Mom and Heidi upped the mayo quotient for the weekend by providing macaroni and potato salads.[singlepic id=58 w=320 h=240 float=center]
After we had all eaten our fill Gigi put on her bathing suit, Jude put on his bathing suit (last year’s model) and all of the kids took to water like a duck takes, well, to water. [singlepic id=59 w=320 h=240 float=center] Unabashed, Jude crawled right into the water and had a splashing good time with the rest of the kids. He doesn’t mind the cold, apparently!Â

Martha happily cavorted in the water, stopping for a short break and then headed right back in. It was nonstop action for her![singlepic id=63 w=320 h=240 float=center]We left, tired and happy. The goal of R&R: complete![singlepic id=61 w=320 h=240 float=center]
