Sleep Talking

Jude’s main form of communication has centered around the word “hi” lately. It means so many things: up, I love you, NOW, mine, look at me, talk to me, and, of course, hi. Last night I was on my way to bed when I heard Jude rustling around, making small noises and bonking his head on the bars of his crib. I knew he would wake himself and his sister If I did not intervene. Gigi was fast asleep in my bed, so I thought I’d take advantage of his momentary wakefulness and snuggle up with both of my kids for a little while. As I picked Jude up he snuggled into me and his super soft Elmo blanket emitting a small, “Hi, hi, hi,” as he slept. He continued saying “hi” until we finally got settled into bed, snug and tight between his sister and I.

Warp Pipe AKA Knuckerhole
03.28.09 | Permalink | | Comments Off on Warp Pipe AKA KnuckerholeGigi and I started playing Super Paper Mario last night as a part of daddy/daughter night. If you remember this sound:Then you remember the warp pipes from Super Mario in days of yore. As I climbed up over a mountain of bricks and dodged a couple of Goombas Gigi shouted “Daddy! Look! A knuckerhole!”
“A What?” I inquired.
“That green thing over there daddy. It is a knuckerhole. You can go down it!”.
With a little interrogation I discovered that knuckerholes are from an episode of PBS’ Dragon Tales… hence the transferrance. I think Knuckerhole is a much cooler name anyway.
