The Dark Side is strong in you

The Dark Side was strong in this one. Please note the tiny rock that Darth Vader is pointing out in exhibit A. That would be the Kidney Stone that was so hurtful and took five weeks to pass. I am writing this as a letter to my future self. Because I know I will forget and I will resist making use of all the nice medicine that makes my heart go all mushy and puts me into a daze. I think the medicine finally made it tolerable and relaxing enough for the pointy, mean, vile stone to exit my body. Bradley, also remember the UTI medicine that no doctor told me about but worked wonders for the overwhelming pain that ran on for days and ground my endurance into a fine flour that I could have baked a cake with. The doctor even congratulated me and told me to continue taking it as it would work better for the type of pain I had. Huh? Why was codeine the only thing I was being prescribed for pain? Ah well, onward and upward to getting our house built. I have been so tired I missed my family; I haven’t been able to steep in them and enjoy them the way I normally have. I am so happy to be back. If only I didn’t feel like I was getting a cough right now.

Fleet Foxes
03.13.09 | Permalink | | Comments Off on Fleet FoxesThe fleet foxes make me like music that I don’t even like. From the first listen I could hear Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young &…&…&… Their influence is all over the disc. But I have four CSN albums on my computer and I can not listen to any of them as they don’t pass the skip test. But after spending several nights enraptured by Fleet Foxes I find that I can listen to CSN and not be completely turned off, although it is because I am listening for the roots of the Foxes’ sound.
White Winter Hymnal is entrancing and it offers up the Parsifal-like imagery of the blood and the snow with some line about kercheifs keeping their heads on? What? But oh if it isn’t entrancing.

Bradley & Jude’s best was playing Star Wars toys for about an hour (Jude really loves the Millenium Falcon). He has developed Kung-Fu Action Grip and he can finally work the little door hinges and press the buttons and I can see it is almost as amazing an experience for him as it is for me!

Hot Pepper
