So my point in doing this is not to hone my skills for a gig with Rolling Stone, or even the indie pages for that matter, but to capture what I have been experiencing in music over the past few months. I want to write about it so I can keep on a roll. Keep feeling something good happen and evolve. Change is good, right? This is a renaissance of sorts for me. I have not listened to music this actively since I was a teen. (more…)

Bjork Hair Day
03.06.09 | Permalink | | Comments Off on Bjork Hair DayGuinevere asked for real fancy hair today… something different. I immediately thought of international pop sensation Bjork on the cover of her album Homogenic. I don’t know why. I admit it is wierd, but there it is. So I gave it a crack and this is the result:

Banastics
03.06.09 | Permalink | | Comments Off on BanasticsGigi used to call gymnastics “banastics” until just recently. It is interesting (and a little sad) to hear her shedding all her little baby cocoon pronunciations. In their place I am graced with terrific ambition.
Today she pointed out that at the new house we can install gymnastic equipment like a balance beam or some bars in the house so that we can do gymnastics inside. We keep asking her how she would like to build the new house and I have to say her version probably doesn’t look much like mine.

Macaroni Man
03.06.09 | Permalink | | Comments Off on Macaroni ManWe had mac & cheese for lunch today and while trying to fold laundry and keep the two littlest Littlejohns occupied I failed to notice that Jude had begun stacking little individual tubes of macaroni on the chair rail beside his high chair. I didn’t realize they could start so young with the macaroni art projects. If I had been thinking I would’ve photographed his installation for posterity, instead I brushed it into his high chair without a thought and wiped away what could’ve been the first sculpture of a true master.

I just heard back from the architect and they can make the changes we requested for our plan. That means this is 99.999999% accurate that this is, with only a smidgeon of a doubt, the plan that we will probably (for sure most likely) build with in Kenmore. Hurrah! ( I think?)I look forward to this big overwhelming new chapter in our lives.
